Story & Photos by Elston Hill

Despite the yuck in the air, there was good attendance on Sunday, Aug. 6 for the WABI Burien Art Walk, led by Maureen Hoffmann.

Maureen did an outstanding job explaining the art on a our that start at the Community Center Annex, Dottie Harper Park, the Burien Courthouse, Transit Center, then around downtown before finishing at the “Art Alley” between SW 152nd and 153rd Streets (download PDF of map here).

One interesting piece of artwork on the main street in Burien is the first photo of a leafy tree pictured in black and white. Look closely. Can you see any of the nice faces in the tree?

  1. Maureen says:

Thanks, Elston, for shooting photos during the walk yesterday! A pleasure to have you join us for another walk.

  2. The art on the WABA walk interesting, it was great exercise going to each piece. As a board member of the Burien Arts Association, I took photos of these pieces to show debut artist examples of art they can create for the city.

Thank you for all the great photos! Had no idea Burien had so much artwork.
