On Monday (Aug. 14), King County Elections released another round of election results for the Aug. 1 Primary Election, and on the day before results are certified, it appears that – pending a last minute miracle – incumbent Steve Armstrong will not be reelected.

Here are some observations:

  • Incumbent Steve Armstrong’s comeback may fall short – he’s still trailing Patty Janssen for his current Position No. 7 – by 31 votes (down from 52 on Aug. 3).
  • Darla Green’s lead over incumbent Nancy Tosta is shrinking – it’s down to just 20 votes (on Aug. 3 it was 184 votes).
  • Krystal Marx’ lead over Patty Janssen has increased to 323 votes (it was 105 on Aug. 3).
  • Pedro Olguin’s lead over Joel Manning is now at 418 (it was 136 on Aug. 1).

Final results will be certified on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017.

The top two vote-getters for each non-partisan position will move onto the ballot for the Nov. 7 General Election.

  1. Question Authority says:

When you add up the ex candidates and their political platforms it becomes quite obvious the votes up for grabs will migrate in the appropriate direction. There were far more candidates looking to return Burien to a prosperous and crime reduced city than the Liberal/Socialist believers who have worn out their welcome in Burien, and with that sunk their own dream laden ship.

  2. Michele says:

It’s disgusting that these candidates especially Green and Janssen leave their campaign signs around Burien, it’s litter, you put them out, now go pick them up. You ARE LITTERING.

    • Question Authority says:

They both made it to the general election in November by attrition so their both still running. How about those who did not make it through take down their own signs instead. Save the planet, why duplicate more signs.

    • PJ says:

      Michele,

I’m not aware of any of my signs that are still in the public right of way, those that I placed in the public right of way I picked up two weeks ago. I did this so that they would’t be seen as obstructive. I’d be happy to pick any of them up that may have been missed. You are more than welcome to contact me through my Facebook page @ Citizens For Patty Janssen or email @ [email protected]. Thanks for letting me know.

    Hey Michele,

Thank you for the comment. We may have missed a few -just send me an email and I will happily come pick them up if they are in the public right-a-way.

However, if they are on private property, well, that is the private property owners right. Most of my signs were taken by Burien residents to put on their property.

    Have a great day!

    Darla
