REMINDER: Area resident Kirk Nordenstrom will give a presentation about the 48 Hour Film Horror Project at the Burien Film Office Happy Hour this Tuesday, Sept. 5.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and Kirk will begin his presentation at 6 p.m. at the Tin Theater in Olde Burien (map below).

This is a FREE, open, all-ages event, and local artists, filmmakers, horror aficionados and all others are invited.

The 48 Hour Film Project is an international timed filmmaking competition that takes place in 130 cities around the world. Seattle is one of those cities. Since 2005, the 48HFP has mobilized thousands of Seattle filmmakers to put their creative and technical skills to the test by creating 4-7 minute short film in just two days. The resultant films are then screened to a packed house at SIFF Cinema Uptown Theater a mere week later.

Since 2013, Seattle has been host to a special variant of this event, the Seattle 48 Hour Film Horror Project. Now in it’s fifth year, the Seattle leg of this horror event will take place October 20-22 with screenings on Halloween at the Uptown.
