Weekend work to repair and replace guardrail in the median on State Route 509 in Burien resumes this weekend (Sept. 15-18), with left lane closures in both directions:

Contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will reduce SR 509 to one lane in each direction between South 128th and South 112th streets from 7 p.m. Friday, Sept 15 to 6 a.m. Monday, Sept. 18.

Plan for travel delays during construction

  • Expect weekend travel delays between Burien and Seattle.
  • Carpool, take transit and plan to travel early or late in the day to avoid the added congestion.
  • For more information on scheduled lane reductions and detours, visit the King County construction page.
  • Check the Seattle traffic website for travel times and alerts.

WSDOT contractor Tucci & Sons, Inc. expects work on the $4.6 million project to wrap up in fall 2017.
