The 6th annual Zombie Fest Northwest – a free event held last Saturday, Sept. 16 at the Normandy Park Towne Center – scared hundreds of people with fun, costumes, music and emergency preparedness. The goal of this event – organized by Susan West – was:

“To increase awareness about disaster and emergency preparedness. The festival also helps boost, community spirit, showcase local businesses and organizations, and raise money for the Highline Schools Foundation, a local food bank, and the Friends of Normandy Park Foundation, a 501(c)(3) that raises money for NP projects and events projects to build community spirit, showcase our businesses and improve our economy.”
Oh…and did we mention ZOMBIES?! Hordes of helpful volunteers helped, and there were performances from the Mt. Rainier High School “Zombie” Marching Band, Vote for Pedro, and of course everyone’s favorite – the Seattle Thrillers.
