BREAKING: A shooting at an apartment building in Burien injured one Thursday afternoon, Sept. 28.

Police say the call came in about 4:45 p.m. from the Burien Apartment Homes (photo above) in the 15600 block of 4th Ave SW (map below).

The victim suffered “very minor injuries” to his hand.

“He was not hit with a bullet, but something the bullet struck flew off and hit his pinky finger,” Sgt. Cindi West told The B-Town Blog.

The victim did not go to a hospital for treatment, and an EMT put a band-aid on it.

West added that the suspect is the victim’s friend, and has a history of paranoid type mental health issues.

One person is in custody.

It’s likely that the helicopter (apparently from a Seattle TV station) seen/heard over Burien was related to this incident.

As we gather more information, we’ll update this post (refresh page for latest updates).

Coming from the Eastside I just realized that I have a hard time getting used to this. Coming election we’ll find out are sick of it or have accepted it as the norm. A council can only solve an issue by first recognizing it. The Tosta/Krystal/Olguin/Matty quartet will consider this an incident while the Green/Wagner/Janssen/Manning quartet notices a pattern. A pattern that needs attention. I hope the people of Burien choose for a safe Burien for their children and grand children’s sake.

What pattern? That easily obtainable guns are often left unattended where children and unstable individuals can take them? I fail to see how it relates to the “law and Order” issue that you people want this election to be about.

    • B says:

Yes, what pattern? And what does the “law and order” faction plan on doing about it, banning guns? Banning people with guns? Banning people with mental health issues?

    • Tom Taaffe says:

Ah yes, three of Nancy Tostas signs have been stolen from my yard on different nights.
One theft would be an incident. Three thefts are indeed a pattern and crimes to boot.

This comment seems so simple and the issues aren’t simple. We need elected leaders who understand the complexities and roots of societal challenges and solutions like more mental health and prevention services. Nancy Tosta understands these issue and is an advocate for real solutions.

More studies and let’s seek grants to understand what crazy is, really!

      • On Lake Burien Minor says:

she said “more mental health services” and you claim that she said “more studies to understand crazy”. Were you trying to be funny because it won’t be for those people effected by these issues.
