A Burien man was arrested and booked into jail after a physical fight on Sunday, Sept. 24 lead to another man’s death.

The King County Sheriff’s Office says that just before 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, they were dispatched to a fight in progress in the 12400 block of Ambaum Blvd. SW (map below).

When deputies arrived, they contacted a group of people in the area and saw a man on the ground bleeding from his head.

The injured man, a 57-year old Burien resident, was unresponsive and taken to Harborview Medical Center with a serious head injury. Witnesses at the scene initially told police the man had fallen and hit his head. Detectives later located other witnesses who said the victim had been in a physical fight with another subject who pushed or struck him, causing him to fall over a wall and hit his head.

On Tuesday (Sept. 26), detectives were informed that the man had died at the hospital as a result of his injuries. Detectives located the suspect, a 43-year old Burien man, on Tuesday night. He was arrested and booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Homicide.
