Highline Public Schools seeking input on schedule changes & math/science

Highline Public Schools wants to get family input on two important topics:

  1. High school schedule changes
  2. Learning materials for high school math and science.

You can apply to serve on two committees: The Secondary School Schedule Committee and the Secondary Math and Science Adoption Committee.

The Secondary School Schedule Committee will:

  1. Review research on the impact of school scheduling on learning.
  2. Provide the Superintendent and staff with input on maximizing learning time in schools.
  3. Participate in sub-committees focusing on various topics including class schedules, start time for secondary schools, funding options for any future changes, and related topics.

You must be a parent, family member or guardian of a Highline Public Schools student to serve. Complete a nomination formfor the Secondary School Schedule Committee by Wednesday, October 18.

The Math and Science Adoption Committee will:

  • Review research on best practices for math or science instruction.
  • Provide Highline Public Schools Instructional Materials Committee with a recommendation for Math (Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2) and Science (Chemistry and Physics) instructional materials.

You must be a parent, family member or guardian of a Highline Public Schools student or a current district or school-level staff member to serve. Submit an application for the Math and Science adoption committee by Wednesday, October 18.
