King County families can apply for holiday assistance at their local Salvation Army office.

A list of King County zip codes and corresponding offices can be found on the website:

Applicants should contact the appropriate Salvation Army office (based on their zip code) for dates and times of applications. All applications must be submitted in person at the appropriate Salvation Army office.

When applying for assistance, applicants must bring the following documentation:

  • Photo identification for all adults in the household
  • Documentation for all children – birth certificate, school record, or proof of guardianship
  • Current proof of address – dated by the US Postal Service within past 30 days
  • Proof of annual household income – applicants’ household income must not exceed 135% of federal poverty guidelines

The Salvation Army will register qualifying families for holiday assistance – food card or food box, and toys for each child (age limitations may vary according to location). Registration and number of recipients are limited, based on availability. The Salvation Army assists families based on the donations received from generous members of the community.

New toys will be collected throughout November and December at various local toy drives. Long-time toy drive partners include KOMO-TV, Bartell Drugstores, and Fred Meyer Stores, where employees and shoppers can fill countless bins with new toys. Additionally, generous members of local companies and families will hold private toy drives to support the program. Food cards and food boxes are funded by monetary donations from the community.

Last year, more than 12,000 kids in King County received toys from The Salvation Army, thanks to the generosity of many donors in the community.
