THANKS READERS – October 2017 Blog traffic stats up +21% / +46% over 2016!

Website traffic for The B-Town Blog during the month of October, 2017 is up nearly +21% – with impressions up +46% over 2016, according to independent statistics from Google Analytics:

Check out the difference in our Oct. 1, 2017 – Oc. 31, 2017 stats vs the same time period in 2016:

  • Sessions: +20.79%:
    • 105,062 vs 86,982 (in 2016)
  • Pageviews: + 46.00%:
    • 356,491 vs 244,180 (2016)

Monthly averages for The B-Town Blog for the first six months of 2017:

  • Sessions: 103,566/month (vs 78,460/mo. for 2016)
  • Pageviews: 346,951/month (vs 227,611/mo. for 2016)

These stats are truly mind-boggling to us, as when we first started The B-Town Biog in Dec. 2007 (our 10th year anniversary will be at the Tin Room on Dec. 11!), our target monthly circulation was 10,000, which seemed like a lofty goal at the time (that was about the circulation of the local newspaper).

Yet now here we are, pulling in more than ten times that, as well as twice the population of Burien (~50,000) in monthly Readers(!).

Overall, our network of six local blogs powered by South King Media have averaged 133,890 Sessions per month, and 392,171 Pageviews for the first half of 2017.

DEMOGRAPHICS
According to Quantcast, The B-Town Blog ranks in the “top 10% of our customers for each of these audiences”:

  • Ages: 55 to 64
  • Ages: 65+
  • Household: Has no Kids
  • Income: $50K to $100K

We believe that our continued, strong traffic growth is due to the fact that more people prefer to get their news online – and quickly – than in print. Personally, we think that by the time something is printed, it’s “old news.”
