ELECTION RESULTS 2: Initial leaders extend margins in 2nd round of returns

The second round of results were released by King County Elections at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8, and all of the initial leaders are holding on and even extending their margins:

  • Joel Manning increased his lead by 10 votes over Pedro Olguin, from 290 votes up to 300.
  • Incumbent Debi Wagner increased her lead over Jimmy Matta, from 126 votes to 141.
  • Incumbent Nancy Tosta increased her lead over Darla Green by 103, from 700 votes to 803.
  • In the tightest race, Krystal Marx extended her 4-vote lead by 1, to 5 over Patty Janssen

City Of Burien Council Position No. 1:

  • Pedro E. Olguin: 3,224 47.78%
  • Joel Manning: 3,524 52.22%

Total Votes (not including write-ins) 6,748

City Of Burien Council Position No. 3:

  • Debi Wagner*: 3,462 51.04%
  • Jimmy Matta: 3,321 48.96%

Total Votes (not including write-ins) 6,783

City Of Burien Council Position No. 5:

  • Darla Green: 2,980 44.06%
  • Nancy Tosta*: 3,783 55.94%

Total Votes (not including write-ins) 6,763

City Of Burien Council Position No. 7:

  • Krystal Marx: 3,350 50.04%
  • Patty Janssen: 3,345 49.96%

Total Votes (not including write-ins) 6,695

* indicates incumbent

These results show that Burien’s return rate is growing – up from 31.4% to 32.9%. Voter turnout for all of King County is at 25.68%.

The next returns will be released Thursday, Nov. 9 at 4 p.m.
