ELECTION RESULTS 4: Progressives now lead in all Burien City Council races

On Friday afternoon (Nov. 10), King County Elections released the fourth round of results for Tuesday’s election, and these new tallies show that the progressive comeback is continuing in a big way.

Here are some of the latest developments of 27,244 registered voters, with 11,578 votes tallied so far (over 42% turnout):

  • Pedro Olguin is now ahead of Joel Manning by 150 votes; on Thursday he trailed by 131, and early results had him behind by as many as 300.
  • Jimmy Matta has increased his lead over incumbent Debi Wagner to 239 votes.
  • Krystal Marx increased her lead over Patty Janssen to 539; early returns had her up by just 4 or 5 votes.
  • Nancy Tosta increased her lead over Darla Green to 1,595.

City of Burien Council Position No. 1:

  • Pedro E. Olguin: 5020 • 50.76%
  • Joel Manning: 4870 • 49.24%
  • Write-in: 23

City of Burien Council Position No. 3:

  • Debi Wagner*: 4854 • 48.8%
  • Jimmy Matta: 5093 • 51.2%
  • Write-in: 15

City of Burien Council Position No. 5:

  • Darla Green: 4166 • 41.97%
  • Nancy Tosta*: 5761 • 58.03%
  • Write-in: 29

City of Burien Council Position No. 7:

  • Krystal Marx: 5183 • 52.74%
  • Patty Janssen: 4644 • 47.26%
  • Write-in: 20

*indicates incumbent

The next round of returns will be released Monday, Nov. 13 around 4 p.m., so stay tuned…
