Two shot, one killed at party in Burien Fri.; 2nd fatal shooting in White Center

Burien Police responded to a report of a shooting Friday night (Nov. 10), and found two men shot.

One of the men died at the scene, the other was taken to Harborview with a gunshot wound to his leg.

Police say that just before 10 p.m. Friday, deputies responded to the Alcove Apartments near S. 120th Street and 1st Ave South (map below) to a report of a shooting. When deputies arrived they found one man who appeared to have multiple gunshot wounds and another who had been shot in the leg.

Detectives learned there had been a party in a vacant unit, and the two men left the party and went into the hallway. An argument was heard and then gunshots. Evidence at scene indicates the men shot at each other. A motive for the shooting has not yet been determined.

The deceased man is an 18-year old man from Maple Valley. His identity will be confirmed and released by the King County Medical Examiner’s Office. The other man, 17 of Newcastle, is at Harborview in stable condition.

SECOND FATAL SHOOTING IN WHITE CENTER
As deputies were investigating the first shooting in Burien, a separate incident took place near the DSHS office at 15th Ave. SW and SW 96th Street in White Center.

A 27-year old Burien man was shot and killed in that shooting.

Witnesses said the victim had been involved in a physical fight with the suspect prior to the shooting.

Police say that Friday night around 10:40 p.m. deputies responded to a report of a man shot near SW 96th Street and 15 Ave SW. When deputies arrived they found a man on the ground not breathing. Deputies administered CPR until Medics arrived but resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told police that a group of men were with talking with the victim prior to the shooting. The suspect who was with the group of men fought with the victim. When the fight was over the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim. The men fled the scene on foot.

King County Guardian One and K-9 responded but were unable to locate the suspect or the men he was with. The only description obtained was that the suspect was wearing a red hoodie.

Identity of the victim will be confirmed and released by the King County Medical Examiners Office
