ELECTION RESULTS 5: Progressives extend leads in all City Council races

On Monday afternoon (Nov. 13), King County Elections released the fifth round of results for last Tuesday’s election, and these new tallies show that the progressive comeback is not a fluke.

Here are some of the latest developments of 27,244 registered voters, with 11,582 votes tallied so far (over 42.5% turnout; overall turnout for all of King County is 41.29%):

  • Pedro Olguin is now ahead of Joel Manning by 221 votes; most recently he led by 150 votes, and last Thursday he trailed by 131; early results had him behind by as many as 300.
  • Jimmy Matta’s lead has grown to 324 votes over incumbent Debi Wagner; last Friday he led by 239.
  • Krystal Marx now leads Patty Janssen by 613 votes; most recently she was up by 539, and early returns had her up by just 4 or 5 votes.
  • Nancy Tosta’s lead over Darla Green has grown to 1,772.

City Of Burien Council Position No. 1:

  • Pedro E. Olguin: 5,405 • 51.04%
  • Joel Manning: 5,184 • 48.96%

Total Votes (not including write-ins) 10,589

City Of Burien Council Position No. 3:

  • Debi Wagner*: 5,162 • 48.48%
  • Jimmy Matta: 5,486 • 51.52%

Total Votes (not including write-ins) 10,648

City Of Burien Council Position No. 5:

  • Darla Green: 4,426 • 41.66%
  • Nancy Tosta*: 6,198 • 58.34%

Total Votes (not including write-ins) 10,624

City Of Burien Council Position No. 7:

  • Krystal Marx: 5,564 • 52.91%
  • Patty Janssen: 4,951 • 47.09%

Total Votes (not including write-ins) 10,515

*indicates incumbent
