[EDITOR’S NOTE: The following is a Letter to the Editor, written by a Reader. It does not necessarily reflect the opinion of The B-Town Blog nor its staff:]

Dear B-Town Blog,

Let’s face it. One doesn’t have to drive far in our beloved Burien to tell there is need. Yet, upon seeing it day by day, added to working in downtown Seattle for 37 years, one can grow callous and cautious about how we spend our benevolence. Thanksgiving morning I saw the article about the Burien Fire Holiday Drive for families in need and knew right away it was going to a good cause and I needed to do something about it. This is not a “clean your cupboards” kind of drive, but it’s a drive to supply families with a decent holiday meal and gifts that they would not otherwise have. I braved Fred Meyer on Thanksgiving day and I don’t mean to boast, I only want to encourage others to also go buy some non-perishable items for a holiday meal and donate them. Don’t buy junk…buy what you would feed your own family. I’m a man of simple means but I think I’ve received as much of a blessing from it as those who will receive the holiday treat.

Fellow Burienites, let’s make these 50 families holidays special and show them people care.

B-Town Blog, thank you for running the article (read it here and learn how YOU can help!).

– ‘Burien Ron’ Hull
