The King County Sheriff’s Office says that on Sunday, Dec. 10, just after 2 a.m. they responded to SW 160th Street and 1st Ave South for reports of an explosion and an injured man.

When police arrived, they found a 20-year old Seattle man with injuries to his face and right hand.

He said he was attempting to light a bottle rocket when it exploded in his hand.

The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center with significant injuries to his hand.

“This was so loud at my place by SW 153rd, I thought it was a bomb or gas line,” one Reader told us. “Clearly was not fireworks or gun sound.”
