Friday morning (Jan. 12) at around 11 a.m., Highline High School experienced a partial power outage due to a burnt fuse.

Lunch and classes were not impacted, and power is expected to be restored later this evening.

This is the second electrical outage in ten days – the previous one on Jan. 2 sent students home early.

Seattle City Light says this outage is affecting 42 customers in the neighborhood, and the estimated restoration time is 6 p.m.

This evening’s school play, “The Craving” has been canceled. Saturday’s performances, a matinee at 2 p.m. and an evening performance at 7 p.m., will continue as scheduled.

The girls basketball game vs. Orting was also canceled, along with gymnastics practice. The boys basketball game at Orting and other practices will continue as scheduled.

Phone lines are also currently down.

In the event of an emergency and you need to contact the school, all are advised to call the security officer at 206-496-9253
