WABI Burien’s ‘Art-n-Walk-n-Talk-n-Music’ will be Sunday, March 4

We’ve got a special Walk-n-Talk day lined up for Sunday, March 4!

  • Artist’s Reception for Danny Mansmith at the Maverick Apartments – 1:30-2:30; Northwest corner of The Maverick Apartments, SW 150th and 6th Ave. SW., Burien
  • Walk-n-Talk to Des Moines Memorial Way and back – 2:15+
  • Spanish Music Concert at Merrill Gardens – 3:00+; Merrill Gardens, 15020 5th Ave S.W., Burien

Reception for Danny Mansmith

Before the walk begins, we’ll enjoy a a reception for artist Danny Mansmith and his installation “Eight Doorways”,  featured in the art space at the Maverick Apartments. Danny’s art is in the glassed-in space at the northwest corner of the building, at SW 150th and 6th Ave. SW. The reception will be held 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. in front of the art space. (IF the weather is bad, the reception will be moved inside to the Maverick’s lobby mezzanine, entering off 5th Ave. SW.)

Walk-n-Talk Route

For our March Walk-n-Talk, we’ll begin at the artist reception and start walking at 2:15. We’ll walk east along SW 152nd, then south along Des Moines Memorial Drive, west on SW 156th and north on 4th Ave. SW, arriving at Merrill Gardens for the concert. (Click on the map to enlarge it. Concert: Music of Spain and South America

When we return from our walk, all are welcome to enjoy the Spanish music concert at Merrill Gardens, 15020 5th Ave S.W., Burien. The Ladies Musical Club of Seattle and the City of Burien present this afternoon concert featuring music for cello, guitar, voice, solo piano and clarinet composed by de Falla, Granados, Piazzolla, Rodrigo and others. The concert is FREE and open to the public!
