Sen. Karen Keiser gives update on funding for regional projects

Sen. Karen Keiser (D – 33rd District) this week gave the following update in her email newsletter on funding for local projects, several of which are in our area:

As we have worked on the budgets for this year, I am also pleased to report that we have achieved several goals for the district, including the following items in the capital budget:

  1. Highline schools received $2.9 million for renovation of Glacier site middle school.
  2. Starfire project in Renton to provide soccer/sports and classes for low-income students received $250K
  3. Grace Children’s Daycare center in Des Moines received $25K
  4. Mary’s Place in Burien won a $500k grant
  5. Moshier Park Sports Field/stormwater project also won a $500k grant
  6. Highline College health and life sciences building received additional $849k in funding to complete its remodeling project.
