The old Burien/Normandy Park Fire Station – located at 15100 8th Ave SW – was purchased recently by McBride Construction, who plan to turn it into their company headquarters.
City Economic Development staff – including Economic Development Specialist Chris Craig – was especially vital, with the support of City Manager Brian Wilson, helping recruit McBride and encouraging them to relocate from their Fremont, Seattle office.
“We are very excited that McBride has chosen to invest in Burien and locate their headquarters here,” Economic Development Manager Andrea Snyder told The B-Town Blog. “We know that downtown Burien is an ideal location for office workers – with so many amenities in walking distance including the transit center and the services offered by our diverse businesses.”
The company employs 125 people, and around 30 will be based out of their new Burien office as part of headquarter operations.
Total square footage of the building is 10,338 s.f., and the lot has 20,473 s.f. The property was listed at $1,500,000, and Dan Mathews was the agent.
