LETTER: ‘I can personally testify that those protesters were anything but silent’

[EDITOR’S NOTE: The following is a Letter to the Editor, written by a Reader. It does not necessarily reflect the opinion of The B-Town Blog nor its staff:]

I am commenting on a recent letter [1] to The B-Town blog from C. Edgar. She wrote about County Executive Dow Constantine’s experience while trying to deliver an address at the Burien Library on April 2. In her letter, she states that there were protesters at the meeting who were “silently protesting.”

I can personally testify that those protesters were anything but silent. I happened to enter the library just at the time their protest was taking place. My purpose was to pick up a “held” book. As I approached the Library’s outer doors off the parking lot, I heard loud voices yelling. As I entered the Library, the noise from their protest was so loud that it hurt my ears. I was wondering how the Library and the many police officers could allow this totally disruptive and disrespectful noise to take place.

Shame on you, protesters. Shame on you Burien Library. Shame on you police officers.
