SAVE THE DATE! April Wine Tasting!
This Thursday, April 19: 5 – 7 p.m.
Tin Room Bar & Theater

Featuring Northwest Cellars Wines:

I’M IN! Chardonnay 2016
100% Chardonnay
Smell the melon, dried apricot and lemon cake with that sweet icing when along comes green banana, chamomile, and a mineral flourish. Get ready for some bright, fresh lemon lime flavors, melon rind and a surprisingly creamy mouthfeel. A judicious touch of oak and tart acidity add complexity to this wine that finishes with lingering notes of rosewater and grapefruit.

Petite Sirah 2013
100% Petite Sirah. Corvus Vineyard, Red Mountain
A luscious wine that opens with sweet notes of raspberry and plum, followed by whiffs of wild herbs and dusty grasses, with some wild daisies in there too. Beautifully balanced with restrained fruit flavors of dried black cherries, more plum, and a touch of milk chocolate. Really elegant and evocative.

Merlot 2013
100% Merlot, Golden Ridge Vineyard, Walla Walla Valley.
Deep and satisfying, with aromas of sweet cherry, vanilla, chocolate and hay on a summer’s day. Spicy roses lead to a densely-flavored palate of red licorice, blackberry, more chocolate and cherry, some mint and lots of silky structure. There’s a lingering finish of saturated berry-ness and earth. Washington Merlot folks…drink now or later.

Intrigue red blend 2013
40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 10% Malbec, 10% Petit Verdot, 5% Carménère. Columbia Valley
Deep and smooth are the touchstones of this year’s vintage. Blackberry, fig, vanilla, and black currant predominate on the nose followed by a palate that is initially dry and clean followed by juicy red fruit flavors leading to underlying fig, tobacco leaf and wood. The strong structural support of tannins and acidity leads to a meaty finish of dark berries and plum that will make you want to stock up before it’s too late.

Cadenza red blend 2013
50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 25% Carménère. Tasawik, Spofford Station, Scooteney Flats, Seven Hills, Coyote Canyon Vineyards. Columbia Valley.

Luscious on the nose with a mix of ripe blackberry, dark plum, black currant, some bramble and dried herbs that lead to a flavorful palate reflecting all the above plus a touch of that hot green pepper. Beautifully blended with a finish that just doesn’t quit.
