Today – Thursday, May 3 – the Kennedy Catholic High School community will celebrate the only man to ever lead the fastpitch team – Dino Josie will be stepping down at the close of this season, his 25th as Head Coach.
His accolades include back-to-back state championships in 2007 and 2008, a string of 11 consecutive league championships, and numerous coach of the year recognitions.
Beyond that, Josie is a “Lancer for Life,” having graduated from the school before returning to teach and coach following college.
On Thursday afternoon, the Lancer community, including former players and friends and families, will wish Coach Josie farewell before and after the game versus Hazen High School, with the first pitch set for 4 p.m. at Chelsea Park in Burien.
Following the completion of the game, friends and family are invited back to campus to celebrate the man himself.
The 2018 Kennedy Catholic fastpitch team is currently 7-5 in the NPSL Cascade Division, good for 3rd place with 2 regular season games remaining.
Chelsea Park is located at 839 SW 136th Street:
