During Discover Burien’s community festival ‘Strawberry Days’ – at Town Square Park the weekend of June 16 and 17 – there will be a Cornhole Tournament for Relay for Life.

This is a new fundraiser game for this year, and it’s going to be a fun way to help a great cause – helping raise money for the American Cancer Society (more info here).

Here are the details:

  • Many of the restaurants and Bars on SW 152nd Street will be hosting Cornhole Tournaments, and all the money will go to Relay Teams. Sell out the entire 32 brackets and your relay team earns $640!
  • Relay Cornhole Tournament will be on Saturday, June 16, from Noon to 9 p.m. Buy-in for each player is a $20 entry fee per two player team. Check-in for Cornhole is 10 a.m. on Saturday, and you will be given your location at check-in.
  • Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
  • Relay Market Place hours are Saturday June 16, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, June 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Luminaria is Saturday, June 16 at 9 p.m.

“We hope you will help by joining us for this fun filled fundraising opportunity. Bring your Relay Team to Burien, we can’t wait to see you there!”

There are three different ways to help raise money:

  1. Secure a booth at the “Relay Market Place” and sell items for fundraising
  2. Run a “Carnival Game” in the “Relay Market Place”
  3. Join in the Cornhole tournament for Relay for Life.

This event is among the many things happening at this FREE annual event, including Soap Box Derby Car Races, Vendor Booths, the infamous Father’s Day Car Show, live music and much more.
