REMINDER: Volunteers needed for Walker Preserve Work Party this Saturday

Volunteers are needed to join friends and neighbors in helping protect and restore Walker Preserve this Saturday, Jun 16, from 9:30 a.m. – Noon.

The weather forecast is calling for sunshine and temperatures in the mid 70’s!

WHAT: We will remove English Ivy to help ensure native trees and shrubs can thrive. Subsequent planting of natives this Fall/Winter will help further enhance fish and wildlife habitat. No experience necessary. Tools, training, and snack provided!

WHEN: Saturday, JUNE 16, 9:30 a.m. – Noon

Future events:

  • Sept. 22
  • Nov. 17

WHERE: Walker Preserve Park, SW. 168th St. and 2nd Ave. SW. in Normandy Park, up the road from Normandy Park City Hall.

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Filled water bottle and glove if you have them
  • Rain gear, layers and sturdy shoes
  • No experience necessary. Training, tools and snacks provided!
