Edward Ray Wright, 72, Burien, passed away on June 17th, 2018, at Valley Medical Center. He had struggled with multiple health issues for several months.

Ed was born in Centralia, WA on June 8th, 1946 to Ray and Hilda Wright. After losing his father at a young age, he and his mother lived in Albany, OR where he graduated from Albany Union High School in 1964.

They moved to Boulevard Park in South Seattle in 1969. In 1971, he completed an AA degree in Accounting and started a fledging Accounting and Tax Preparation business with little more than a card table and a calculator. His company, Wrights Business Service, Inc., will continue to serve his clients, many of whom have become life-long friends, over the past 47 years.

Ed proudly served as Scout Master to Troop 352, Burien, for many years while his boys advanced through the ranks of Boy Scouts of America. His mentoring in Troop 352 continued for several years beyond his own boys’ completion of their ranks.

His family is grateful for the time spent with him on his final Father’s Day. He slipped away into a restful sleep that evening with his wife, Dawn at his bedside.

Ed is survived by his two daughters, two sons and three grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held at the Highline United Methodist Church in Burien at 3 p.m. on August 9th, 2018.
