Volunteers needed for Work Parties at new Mary’s Place Burien facility

Mary’s Place is seeking Volunteers to help them prepare their new Burien home, a family shelter opening at the former Lakeside Milam Recovery Center site.

Several Volunteer Work Parties are scheduled throughout July and August for interior cleanup, lawn care, setting up and decorating rooms, organizing the kitchen, setting up the computer lab, and more – and help is needed.

Upcoming dates are:

  • Saturday, July 14: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. (lunch provided)
  • Saturday, July 21: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. (lunch provided)
  • Saturday, July 28: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. (lunch provided)
  • Saturday, Aug. 4: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. (lunch provided)
  • Sunday, Aug. 3: 1 – 4 p.m. (snack provided)

“Mary’s Place strives to keep families in crises together and provides them with the tools and resources they need to find and keep housing and employment.”
