Larry Cripe, President of Burien’s Quiet Skies Coalition, held a press conference outside Burien City Hall on Monday, July 16, outlining his group’s complaints and action plan having to do with increased airplane noise over the region. Cripe talked about the group’s concerns about the FAA’s lack of response – and some say total ignorance – of local citizens’ requests to change airplane turns that have been going on over Burien for two years. Many complain about increased noise, including late at night, as well as concerns about pollution and the effects on life. PROTEST AT ALASKA AIRLINES JULY 26 Quiet Skies is planning to protest outside Alaska Airlines corporate headquarters in SeaTac on Thursday, July 26 (time TBA – watch the blog for details soon). Cripe will also do a presentation at tonight’s Burien City Council meeting, which starts at 7 p.m.
