Cathy Schrock hired as Administrative Services Director for City of Burien

The City of Burien announced that it has hired Cathy Schrock to serve as its Administrative Services Director.

Her first day was Aug. 20, 2018.

“She possesses the unique combination of great interpersonal skills with an enhanced understanding of computer software and systems,” Burien City Manager Brian Wilson said. “She will lead the City through major projects and process improvement. We are fortunate to gain her talent and expertise.”

Schrock most recently served as the Civilian Operations Manager and Public Communications Manager for the City of Federal Way. Her experience includes executive management, human resources, public records, information technologies and systems, labor relations, crisis communications, and personnel development and leadership. Additionally, she has advanced skills in research, data collection, statistical analysis, and software applications that will be used heavily in her new role.

During her 30 years of municipal government experience, Schrock has held leadership positions within the Federal Way Police Department and the City of Federal Way.

“I look forward to serving the City of Burien by being an innovative problem solver, and earning the public trust through effective human resource and information management,” Schrock said.

Schrock has a Bachelor of Science and Business Management degree from the University of Phoenix and attended Highline Community College.
