BREAKING: A 51-year old woman was killed by a stray bullet in a shooting near SW 152nd Street and 1st Ave South in Burien Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 19, 2018.

Police say that the 51-year-old female victim was working at the One Source Chiropractic office at 15217 1st Ave South when she was hit and killed by a stray bullet from the drive-by shooting.

The four suspects – who are apparently still at large – were apparently shooting from an SUV and attempting to hit a male walking on the sidewalk, who was not hit.

Highline High School, located about three blocks to the east on S. 152nd Street, was put into modified lockdown:

Highline High School is on modified lockdown. At 2:51 p.m, 20 minutes after dismissal, the school was advised to go into lockdown due to shots fired a few blocks away. Police responded immediately.

We expect the modified lockdown to be in place until 4:45 p.m. Students are on campus for after-school programs and athletics. They have been moved indoors. Parents may pick up their students at any time by accessing the school from 156th street. Police have closed 152nd street.

School staff do not answer the phone during a lockdown so that their focus can remain on school safety.

1st Ave South at SW 152nd Street is closed for the investigation, and all are encouraged to avoid the area for now.

BTB Publisher Scott Schaefer happened to be driving south on 1st Ave South just five minutes before the shooting (this pic is timestamped at 2:46 p.m.) when he took this photo of police activity near the southeast corner of SW 152nd & 1st Ave South (not sure if this activity was related, but just before this Schaefer witnessed two men running south on 1st):
