The Season Opening Concert for the Northwest Symphony Orchestra will be Wednesday, Oct. 24, starting at 7:30 p.m. at Benaroya Hall.

  • Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 7:30 p.m.: “National Parks at Benaroya” at Benaroya Hall.
  • This concert is also the 25th Anniversary Celebration for Washington’s National Park Fund.

Concert includes:

  • Symphony #9 (New World)- Antonin Dvorak with West Coast Premiere of Visuals from National Parks and Washington’s National Parks by Adrian Wyard
  • Entry of the Gods into Valhalla- Richard Wagner- featuring photos of Washington’s National Parks from numerous photographers from Washington State
  • Forestia- Brent Irwin (World Premiere)
  • America the Beautiful- Samuel Ward- with students from Highline and Federal Way School Districts
  • *After the Federal Way concert, there will be an instrument zoo where children can try out instruments on stage

“Following up on our sold-out collaborations with visual artist Adrian Wyard, we present the West Coast premiere of his visuals to accompany Dvorak’s dynamic Symphony #9 (New World),” said Music Director Anthony Spain. “We are partnering with Washington’s National Park Fund, as well as photographers from across the state, for this concert, which will make this a particularly spectacular event.”
