Highline Public Schools Superintendent Susan Enfield has been named the 2018 Superintendent of the Year by the National School Foundation Association, which represents foundations supporting schools across the U.S.

Enfield is being recognized for engaging the community and partnering with the Highline Schools Foundation to raise financial resources for schools and students.

The award “recognizes a superintendent whose visionary leadership and collaboration develops a partnership with their education foundation which provides every student the opportunity for success.”
Enfield was nominated for the award by the Highline Schools Foundation Board of Trustees.

“Dr. Enfield is a model for how a superintendent can advance the work of the foundation. If there is a way to increase resources for the district through the foundation, Susan is in the forefront leading the charge and advocating for us,” said Anne Baunach, executive director of the Highline Schools Foundation.

Enfield was cited for seeking partners and cultivating relationships that have resulted in gifts to the foundation of more than $800,000. She was also recognized for modelling personal financial support of the foundation and encouraging others to join her.
