Burien Actors Theatre (BAT) is offering three scholarships to Burien High School students interested in pursuing an education in the arts.

This year – with the assistance of King County Councilmember Dave Upthegrove – BAT is offering three $1,000 scholarships.

One scholarship is being offered to students at Kennedy Catholic High School, and the other two $1,000 scholarships will go to students at other High Schools in Burien.

The deadline for Kennedy Students to apply is approaching – applications for the 2019-2020 returning student scholarships will be opening at 8 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 18, and will close at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, March 18.

If you are a student at Kennedy Catholic High School and are interested in an arts education, please visit the school’s website (www.kennedyhs.org) for details on how to apply for BAT’s scholarship, and whatever other scholarships that may be available to you!

BAT is once again pleased to support Burien High School students, and to keep Burien as a place where art happens!

Don’t miss BAT’s next main stage production, Visiting Cezanne, opening Feb. 15.

Unknown painter Nora Baker visits the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2016. Through the magic in a paintbrush, Nora is whisked back to 1900 France and the studio of artist Paul Cezanne. Cezanne and Nora end up exploring what it is that keeps an artist going when it all seems pointless. Will this magical meeting change history and their artistic careers? See what happens in the dramedy Visiting Cezanne.

Visiting Cezanne runs February 15 through March 10.
