The City of Burien released the following Severe Weather Update for Monday, Feb. 11:

City buildings will be closed on Monday, Feb. 11. Seahurst Park will remain closed due to hazardous conditions. Heavy and wet snow may cause tree limbs to break. Exercise extreme caution if walking underneath large trees laden with snow.

Public Works staff and several members of the Parks Department staff are doing a tremendous job keeping our roads as clear as possible.

The Highline United Methodist Church (located at 13015 1st Avenue South), have been serving those in need with day and night shelters. Approximately 15-20 individuals have been present the past two days. A great deal of thanks are due to the Ecumenical Leadership Circle, Transform Burien, Union Gospel Mission, our human services staff, and all of the volunteers who have made this emergency service available.

Programs, classes, and rentals at the Burien Community Center and Moshier Art Center have been canceled for Monday, Feb. 11. For more winter weather information, go to: burienwa.gov/winteradvisory or follow the City of Burien on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.

Further assessment of conditions will be made tomorrow evening regarding available City services on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2019.

Also, be very very careful out there!
