The City of Burien is seeking Volunteers for Community Events to Celebrate Earth Day:

Globe and plants.

People across the country will celebrate Earth Day on April 22, 2019.

With Earth Day just around the corner, there are many opportunities to help protect Burien’s environment:

  • Arbor Day & Earth Day Tree Planting. April 19, 1–3 p.m., Arbor Lake Park, 12380 2nd Ave S, Burien. Learn more.
  • National Wildlife Federation Pollinator Planting at Mathison Park. April 20, 10 a.m. –4 p.m., Mathison Park, 533 S 146th St, Burien. Learn more at: naturestewardswa.org
  • Seahurst Beach Cleanup. April 21, 1:30–3:30 p.m., Seahurst Beach Park. Pitch in to clean up the beach and trails of Seahurst Park. Indoor activities and helpful resources provided. Register at environmentalsciencecenter.org or call 206-248-4266.
  • Clean Sweep. April 27, 8 a.m.–noon, Burien Fire Station, 900 SW 146th St, Burien. Downtown Burien clean-up event. Learn more at: discoverburien.org.
  • Normandy Park and Burien Recycling Collection Event. April 27, 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Washington State Criminal Justice Training Center, 19010 1st Ave S, Burien. Bring your household items for recycling. Learn more.
