Highline Public Schools seeks nominations for its Family Action Committee

The Highline Public Schools Superintendent’s Family Action Committee (FAC) is currently seeking nominations.

The FAC has been active for six years and brings parent and family voice to a variety of district strategies, practices and decisions.

The application deadline is Friday, May 10. Those nominated must be a parent, family member or guardian of a Highline Public Schools student.

For the 2019-20 and 2020-21 school years, this committee is charged with:

  1. Providing the superintendent and staff strategies for effective family engagement practices.
  2. Providing input and feedback on school district policies, and department strategies and practices.
  3. Holding the district accountable for strategic plan goals. District staff will report out on specific metrics on a regular basis.

Committee members are asked to commit to a two-year term, which includes orientation and training, quarterly meetings and subcommittee meetings.

  • Reviewing and providing feedback on policies such as equity and family engagement.
  • Co-developing Highline’s family engagement survey and vision.
