Volunteers are needed to help with Miller Creek Community Stewardship Event this coming Saturday, May 18:

Get involved in improving YOUR watershed!!
Join your friends and neighbors for a few hours to help improve your local park and enhance fish and wildlife habitat!!

On Saturday, May 18 we will be doing maintenance (e.g., mulching plants and weed removal) around last fall’s plantings to improve growing conditions and enhance native plant survival.

Why Miller Creek?
Opened in 2015, the Burien Miller Creek Trail is a community resource benefiting from long-term volunteer stewardship. Activities include invasive species removal, tree planting, and ongoing maintenance.

If left unchecked, invasive plants can

  • Outcompete native trees and shrubs;
  • Reduce plant diversity and attract pests; and
  • Degrade the aquatic ecosystem of Miller Creek

2019 Dates:

  • Saturdays, 9:30 am – 12:30 pm
    • May 18
    • Aug. 3
    • Oct. 5

No experience required. All ages are welcome; children must be accompanied by an adult.

WHERE: Miller Creek Trail, 14455 Des Moines Memorial Drive in Burien. Parking available on the northwest side of Des Memorial Drive across from the Des Moines Way Self Storage.
