More than 600 Highline High School alumni and family members filled the halls of the soon-to-be demolished schools with stories, memories and hugs on Saturday, May 18, 2019.

The school will close in June before being torn down for construction of an entire new campus, with a projected opening of fall, 2021.

During construction, Highline High students will attend the Olympic interim site in Des Moines.

Special shoutout to Betty Carter (class of ‘45) and George Bauer (‘45) as the earliest alumni in attendance at the event.

“Saturday’s celebration reminded us of all the fond memories and appreciation our community has for this school, built in 1924,” organizers said. “Seeing so many familiar faces also has us excited for the Highline Pirates’ future in their new school, which is set to break ground this summer.”

Thank you to the many alumni and community members who attended the event and to volunteers and community partners who made it all possible.
