The First Fridays of the month are hopping around Burien, and the B-Town Beat has the goods on the hot spots around town! Shops, galleries, restaurants and bars all play host to art, music and special events all evening TONIGHT – Friday, July 5th.

This FREE event will run from 5 – 9 p.m. in Downtown Burien; here’s a map:

  • Clone Press will be hosting a poster retrospective of pieces Brandon has printed at his shop. Stop in and welcome them to the neighborhood! 205 SW 152nd
  • Burien Press is hosting Naby Camara and Carol Oliver, playing the Balafon, a kind of xylophone that has been played in Africa since the 12th century. 432 SW 152nd
  • A Place for Pets is hosting the art of Annastasia Mackal. Burien resident returned recently from Portland, she takes her inspiration from the sticker slapping and street art cultures. 431 SW 152nd
  • The Oilery showcases the Burien Artists curation team, bringing Angelina Tolentino’s colorful images to dazzle you. 540 SW 152nd
  • Pickled and Preserved is hosting artwork from Becky Hoover. Intricate and seemingly impossible patterns are made using rice, beans, lentils and more. You can hear some live music and sample some of Burien’s First Fridays own label bubbly! 546 SW 152nd
  • Black Zia Cantina has a one night show of patriotic artwork inspired by the flag. This show has four different artists interpretation of the flag of the USA. Up the entire month of July are screen print pieces from Kyle Sauter. 15212 6th Ave SW
  • Community Folk Art Gallery is hosting B-town Beat performer Chet Corpt, playing the traditional music of the Mande culture of West Africa on the kora. Friday is also opening night for the gallery’s latest artists; Cynthia Turner and Ken Borroughs. 639 SW 152nd
  • Grand Central Bakery is hosting B-town Beat performer Andrew Sherbrooke. His guitar melodies are the perfect accompaniment to artwork from a local artist who is a GCB customer!
  • Sweet Breeze Ice Cream hosts illustrative artwork by Amber Raven. 643 SW 152nd
  • Sitka Living is hosting live music! 648 SW 152nd
  • Three Trees Books hosts the art of Alexis St John, along with live music! 2118 SW 152nd
  • Frankie’s B-town Bistro invites you to enjoy the Star Spangled Cooler drink special. 653 SW 152nd
