Pat O’Day – the legendary Pacific Northwest broadcaster and promoter – will serve as the Grand Marshal of the Des Moines Waterland Seafair Parade this Saturday, July 20, Destination Des Moines announced.
The parade starts at 5:45 p.m., and this is its 60th anniversary.
In addition to Pat O’Day, the parade will also feature the Famous Dancing Horses of Washington, Brenda Jones (the first female Unlimited hydroplane race driver), Seafair Pirates and Clowns, Pete’s Towing, the Children’s Parade, Steve Huff Motorsports’ Pro-Lite e350 Hydroplane, Local Drill Teams and much more.
CLASSIC CAR & WOODEN BOAT SHOW SUNDAY
On Sunday, July 21, there will be a Classic Car & Wooden Boat Show as well as an Art Show at the Des Marina. This year it will feature a Special visit by the The Northwest Chapter of the GameWardens Association, a group composed mostly of combat veterans referred to as the Brown Water Navy, who primarily served in the Vietnam River Wars. They will have a restored MKII Patrol Boat River (PBR) displayed at the Boat Show.
All events of the Waterland Festival are free.
