At Monday night's (May 20) city council meeting, Burien Police Chief Scott Kimerer honored some local heroes for intervening and successfully rescuing a 10-year old boy who was almost abducted at Albertson's on First Ave South and South 128th Street last September (read our previous coverage here). On Sept. 29, 2012, a suspect accosted and attempted to abduct the child in the bathroom at the Albertson’s. Store employees, becoming aware of a commotion, intervened and successfully rescued the child and after a struggle, detained the suspect pending the arrival of the police.
