Highline Historical Society’s Online Auction Fundraiser is now open
The Highline Historical Society has opened its online auction fundraiser, which runs through June 2. "Auction items range from exotic vacation getaways, to restaurant gift certificates, to sports memorabilia signed by the likes of Hank Aaron and Russell Wilson," reads an announcement. If you’re looking for the perfect something for the dad or grad in your life, check out the auction at www.highlinehistory.org. The auction runs until June 2, 2013. Proceeds benefit the Highline Historical Society, which is raising funds to construct the new Highline Heritage Museum.

At Monday night's (May 20) city council meeting, Burien Police Chief Scott Kimerer honored some local heroes for intervening and successfully rescuing a 10-year old boy who was almost abducted at Albertson's on First Ave South and South 128th Street last September (read our previous coverage here). On Sept. 29, 2012, a suspect accosted and attempted to abduct the child in the bathroom at the Albertson’s.
