This sounds pretty cool, and will give all us hardcore Viaduct lovers a real chance to say goodbye in person – from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22nd, the public will be allowed to walk on the top deck of the flippin’ Alaskan Way Viaduct’s south end, and watch as crews continue demolishing large sections of the viaduct in SODO!
There will also be a public contest, and a celebration event from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m.
No RSVPs are required, but some restrictions apply, like:
- No pets or bicycles are allowed onsite
- Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult
- The event will be ADA accessible
- Parking is available on adjacent city streets and in nearby pay lots
