A re-dedication of the newly-built and installed ‘Downtown Burien Arch’ is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. this Friday, Sept. 15.

As we previously reported, the previous arch was destroyed by a crane truck on Feb. 10, 2016.

The cost to replace the arch was $390,000, and was paid for by an insurance claim from the truck company.

The original sign was part of a 1999 ‘Downtown Burien Streetscape Design Plan,’ and was designed by KPG Interdisciplinary Design.

Here’s surveillance video of the actual crash courtesy Michael’s Collision, located at 134-1/2 SW 152nd Street:

Members of the Burien City Council may be attending this event, the city added.

The arch is located in the 100 block of SW 152nd Street.
