Volunteers are needed for a Work Party at Walker Preserve on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018.

“Join your friends and neighbors in helping protect and restore this community treasure. Get outside before the weather turns. This is the second to last event of year and will be be prepping for planting some native conifers in November!”

WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 22: 9:30 am – Noon (Future events: Nov. 17).

WHERE: Walker Preserve Park, SW. 168th St. and 2nd Ave. SW. in Normandy Park, up the road from Normandy Park City Hall.

WHAT: We will remove English Ivy to help ensure native trees and shrubs can thrive. Subsequent planting of natives this Fall will help further enhance fish and wildlife habitat. No experience necessary. Tools, training, and snack provided!


  • Filled water bottle and gloves if you have them
  • Rain gear, layers and sturdy shoes
  • No experience necessary. Training, tools and snacks provided!
