The King County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a man celebrating his 21st birthday was critically stabbed, and another man shot Tuesday night (May 24th) during a bar fight outside the Wah Long Sports Bar in Burien.

Both victims ended up at Harborview Medical Center.

The shooter is still at large.

The incident began about 12:20 a.m. at the Wah Long, located at 15220 Ambaum Blvd SW. Several patrons got into an argument inside the business, which escalated into a fistfight involving four people outside in the parking lot. At some point during the fight one participant was stabbed several times with a knife.

Next one of the persons involved in the fight ran over to a parked car, pulled out a handgun, and fired several shots. One of the people in the original fight was hit and he collapsed. The shooter, stabbing victim, and others piled into the car and the vehicle sped off.

Sheriff’s deputies and Burien Police arrived about 45 seconds after the 9-1-1 call, and Medics a short time later. Meanwhile, the getaway car dropped off the stabbing victim and his sister at Highline Medical Center and then left immediately. The victim was transferred to Harborview.

The injuries suffered by the shooting victim, a 33-year old Burien resident, are not believed to be life-threatening. However the injuries to the 21-year old stabbing victim are. He is from Burien also.

There have been no arrests.

What is it going to take for the inept burien city council to do something about this place? That is two shootings in 5 months. 5 months! Seriously wake the hell up and close this place.

really its not the place i go there and i would never be part of this its the area its in and the people that get 86’ed and keep trying to come back in , the owners of this bar and tired of all the drama and negitivity that surrounds thier place they are good people. little kids need to stop playing with guns . the police also did not respond in 45 sec this time or last , i was there for the one 5 months ago and it took them over 20 min. and then they harressed all of us !!!! special when we had nothing to do with it !!!

The owners of the bar are tired of all drama? I can appreciate that and I believe that they are good people. But if they are truly tired of the drama then stop serving at 2 am (which they don’t), cut people off (which they don’t), don’t serve to minors, don’t turn a blind eye to drug deals in your parking lot, don’t let people take their beer bottles out of the bar, and pick up the trash around your building.

I’m sorry good people or not if you run a business and that business is out of control it should be closed down. Two shootings in 5 months is a public nuisance. Good people who are tired of the drama either do something about it or the city should condemn the building.

I was one block away when the shooting took place. The police arrived about 5 minutes after, not 20 min.

It is not the location of this business that is an issue, or the people that live inburien. It is the type of people that bars like this attract. Your business must not pose a threat to the public. If it does you must take action to reduce that threat or your business should be shut down. When you serve the Banana Gorilla drinks (yes I have had one) people are going to get drunk. I haven’t been to the Wah Long in years, but the last two times I was there I saw two fights and another extremely drunk patron wanted to fight me because I asked him to move.

Burien is starting to get a bad reputation like Des Moines & SeaTac. It’s time the city of Burien actually do something meaningful and shut bars that attract drugs and violence down.

if they closed the place…where would we get our banana gorillas?

Follow the money! Identiy the person or persons that enjoy the rewards for a nuisance establishment being open and direct the pressure there.

Whatever happened to “if you want a better stiffer drink go to a chinese joint”.

Have you seen the awning out in front of the place? The building looks like it has “meth mouth”! The place is an eyesore – I’d like to see it cleaned up, BUT with a different business in there. It’s a great location for a business; too bad it currently has one that attracts this sort of trouble.

The place does not have “meth mouth” nor does it look like it has “meth mouth”. Have you ever been inside of it cause i go there a lot. You should really go there and see what kind of people they are. They don’t like the violence just as much has or more then everyone else. They didn’t ask for the fight and stabbing to happen. They tried to kick the guy out that started all the shit that went down there. Even if you kick someone out of the bar…and they did…. you cant control what people do outside. If someone wants to fight then they are going to start a fight. Maybe if people got in trouble for there actions then there wouldn’t be fights at bars. This bar isn’t the only one that has had people get shot or stabbed. There have been plenty of those in Seattle, Renton, federal way, Tacoma, ect. You don’t live in a perfect world… there will always be violence and sometimes there is nothing you can do about it. So if you don’t like it then go somewhere else and stop talking shit until you actually know all the facts.

Why is everyone’s answer for anything bad that happens is to shut it down or tear it down? If you shut down Wah Long’s then everyone will just move to Elmer’s or Good Time Ernie’s, so when it happens there do we just shut down those places too? Maybe if people were actually punished for their bad actions, others would be fearful of the same result and maybe think twice before being stupid. But I see how it would be so much easier to shut down everything that is not good and proper.

why don’t they just get some armed security guards if some one acts up they get shot or zap with a stun gun i know it might cost some extra money but at least it might put a stop to the bs and keep the drunks in control instead of out of control

  12. Greg says:

Why don’t we just prohibit alcohol. Oh wait.. we tried that before and it didn’t work :-/

  13. Chase says:

HAHAHA, so when someone post the truth about the establishment and not some random bashing like most people it gets deleted ? what a fake blog. Guess having people post a bunch of bashful, untrue comments on this so called “blog” is more wanted then the actual truth… Makes me think whoever is doing this blog just has a personal grudge or just part of something shady…
