MariannePerkinsArt The Burien Community Center will be displaying work from artist Marianne Perkins through the end of March. Marianne grew up in Chicago, and spent her teen years hanging around the Chicago Art Institute where she developed a love for painting and a passion for black eye-liner. She has a BFA from the College of Charleston, and studied art in Korea, Denmark and on the island of Guam (taking full advantage of the “travel opportunities” inherent in her husband’s military career.) She is a Signature Member of the Northwest Watercolor Society, and is well-known for her massive and still growing collection of art supplies. Marianne’s work will be on display through the end of March. The Burien Community Center is located at 14700 6th Ave SW. Open hours are Monday-Thursday 8:30am-8pm, Friday 8:30am-5pm, and Saturday 8:30am-noon. For more information, call 206-988-3700.]]>
