As we’re sure our Readers know, a massive mudslide rocked our fellow citizens in Oso, WA, killing possibly as many as the eruption of Mt. St. Helens did in 1980 – making this one of the worst disasters in the state’s history. In response to this devastating tragedy, the Washington State Combined Fund Drive – a state agency – has put together a special campaign for those affected. It’s kind of a one-stop shop to donate to state-approved relief efforts, and the recipient charities include:

  • American Red Cross
  • Stanwood Camano Incident Support Team
  • Snohomish County Volunteer Search and Rescue Unit
  • The Soup Ladies
  • United Way of Snohomish County
  • Washington State Department of Transportation Memorial Foundation

“The Combined Fund Drive is not a policing agency and has no means to verify that charities involved in any disaster relief campaign are providing the services and goods they have stated they are providing. Charity participation in a disaster relief campaign is not an endorsement on behalf of the CFD. The Combined Fund Drive reserves the right to eliminate any charity from disaster relief campaigns if it is discovered that they are not providing services specific to the disaster relief effort.”]]>
