2014-Juried-card-front_4 Local arts group Artists United will be presenting its annual Juried Art Show at the new Burien Arts Gallery in May. The gallery is located at 826 SW 152nd Street in Olde Burien. Hours are Wednesday through Saturday, Noon- 6 p.m. and Sunday, Noon- 4 p.m. The Juried Art Show will run until June 1. The opening reception is this Thursday, May 1, from 5 – 8 p.m. The opening is part of the B-Town Beat Art Walk. The Juried Art Show is a members only show and the artwork will be juried by well-known Seattle artist Lois Silver, whose own work may be viewed at http://www.lisaharrisgallery.com/artists/silver.php Among the local artists to be featured are Chris Gonvers, Nancy Fulton and Janet Price. Artists United’s mission is to provide an organization in which artists work together, encourage each others creativity, and bring art to South King County. It has been in existence since 1949. The members work in a variety of styles and media, including watercolor, acrylic, oil, pastel, mixed media, photography, pottery, printmaking, glass and jewelry. The exhibition is showing at the new Burien Arts Gallery, which was opened by the Burien Arts Association last fall. The mission of Burien Arts Association is to engage, enrich and entertain all the communities, generations and visitors to the Burien and Greater Highline area through creative and innovative arts programming.
