BurienCrash050814 The King County Sheriff’s Office says that at about 12:35 a.m. on Thursday (May 8), a 28-year old Seattle man died from injuries sustained during a collision at SW 130th Street and 2 Ave SW in Burien. Police say that the victim, driving an Acura sedan, was driving east on SW 130 Street crossing the intersection of 4th Ave SW when his vehicle bottomed out in the intersection. The driver lost control of his vehicle as it left the roadway and collided with a light pole. The vehicle continued its course to hit a large, parked construction truck and trailer causing the sedan to roll. As the vehicle rolled, it then hit a power pole breaking it into several pieces. The car’s roof was crushed due to the vehicle’s rolling, and the driver was ejected from the vehicle. The Seattle man sustained fatal injuries from the collision. The King County Sheriff’s Office major accident reconstruction detectives are investigating the collision and the King County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the man and provide cause of death. 1. I live on the street and it is a 25mph zone. It was pretty shocking. Hit one power pole as he was going East then went between a construction truck and bank on the South side of the street. Went up the bank and hit the second pole. Looking at the wreckage after it was turned over it looked like it should have been survivable. Also, there was luggage thrown everywhere so we all assumed he was on the way to the airport. I don’t think he was wearing his seatbelt.
